How to Find a Blood Stem Cell Donor

If you or someone you know is diagnosed with serious blood disorders like blood cancer (forms of Leukemia and Lymphoma), Thalassemia or Aplastic Anemia, a BLOOD STEM CELL TRANSPLANT may be the best or the only hope of cure.

The patient’s treating doctor will be able to evaluate the need for a blood stem cell transplant. If the doctor recommends a transplant, the first step will be to check the availability of a matching donor within the family. If no matched donors are found within the family, the next step would be finding an unrelated matched donor.

DATRI is an unrelated adult BLOOD STEM CELL DONORS REGISTRY that aids in finding an unrelated matched donor for blood stem cell transplantation.

Explained

If a Match is Not Found

The odds of finding a match are 1 in 10,000 to 1 in a million. However, DATRI has been able to facilitate over 1145 transplants in May 2023.

In the event a patient does not find a matched donor from the registry or any other registry worldwide, DATRI can help the patient’s family in conducting Bone Marrow Donation or Peripheral Blood Stem Cell Donation awareness campaigns to register willing donors from across the country.

This campaign can be conducted in colleges, corporates and communities known to the patient’s family and friends.
