India is a land of festivals, and each festival is a celebration of life. So, during this festival of colours, let us pledge to bring joy and colour in the life of a patient suffering from blood cancer or blood related disorder by registering with DATRI as a potential blood stem cell donor to GIFT A LIFE!
There are more than 10,000 children born every year with thalassemia – a genetic blood disorder and more than 40 people are diagnosed with blood cancer or blood disorders every day. Various government research bodies can verify these statistics. So, let us spread the joy of colour by making people aware that blood cancer and blood disorders are curable and healthy people are the cure! ACT NOW to GIFT A LIFE full of festive colours and see your joy increase multifold when a blood disorder patient gets their life’s second chance.
A small act can be a life-changing decision for a genetically matched patient. You would only donate your peripheral blood stem cells when you are a match for a patient, and only 25% of patients find a match within the family. There is a 1:10,000 to 1: 1 million chance of finding a matched unrelated donor. DATRI has 4.6 Lakhs registered donors, and we have completed 938 blood stem cell donations so far in twelve years, So the more people register in DATRI – the higher are the chances of finding a match for a patient.
This Holi, let us reach out as a helping hand to celebrate the festival of colours by creating awareness and motivating people to register for blood stem cell donation.

DATRI is working towards creating a wide and diverse database of potential Blood Stem Cell Donors that can be accessed by any patient living anywhere in the world in need of a Blood Stem Cell Donation. Any healthy individual between the age of 18 years to 50 years can register as a blood stem cell donor with DATRI and potentially become a lifesaver when they’re found to be a match for a fatal blood disorder patient.
