Dr. Nasmin built her career caring for others — as a Senior Resident at Aster Medicity, Bangalore, and at KIMS Hospital, Trivandrum, before moving to Qatar, where she now lives with her husband and son. Today she is being treated at Hamad Medical Corporation’s Rumailah Hospital in Doha — the same kind of hospital where she once treated patients of her own.
Since November 2024, Dr. Nasmin has been fighting Acute Myeloid Leukaemia — and now, a relapse.
Despite the best possible medical care, her disease has returned, and she urgently needs a blood stem cell transplant. She has no HLA match within her own family. Doctors have searched registries of 43 million donors worldwide without success.
Her parents trace their roots to Tenkasi District, Tamil Nadu, and Alappuzha District, Kerala — which means a match is most likely to come from someone who shares her ethnic and regional background. That’s where ordinary people, especially from Tamil Nadu and Kerala, can do something extraordinary.
You can still stand for Dr. Nasmin’s case.
Every donor registration costs ₹2,500 for HLA tissue typing and laboratory processing. If you can’t register yourself, you can sponsor someone who can — a colleague, a friend, a stranger. Your support builds the registry Dr. Nasmin is depending on.
